After scoring the 2nd least amount of goals in La Liga last season, Levante have set out to improve their strike force with the signing of Andreas Ivanschitz from Mainz on a Bosman transfer. He flies into Spain for a medical this Monday.

The Austrian told Levante's official website: "I am proud to belong to Levante. It's a good opportunity to participate in the Spanish league." Ivanschitz has played numerous positions this season for Mainz, more predominantly on the left side of attack and as a second striker and explains that he doesn't mind where he plays for Levante as he is 'comfortable' in both areas of the pitch.

Ivanschitz has been a first-team member of Mainz for the past 4 years, but leaves the club after failing to agree a new contract. He will officially be a Levante player as of July, when his contract finally comes to an end.
