In Bayern Munich's press conference this morning, new manager, Pep Guardiola has confirmed his interest in bringing Barcelona midfielder, Thiago, to Bavaria. When asked about the possibility of bringing Thiago to Bayern, Guardiola stated: "Yes I hope to sign him, but I don't know what will happen. Thiago convinced me of his credentials at Barcelona... Matthias [Sammer] and Karl Heinz [Rummenigge] know why I want Thiago. Either Thiago or no more players will join us. He is a great player... I know his skills. Nobody will leave Barcelona unless they feel that they will not get a lot of playing time. He wants to play and that's why I've proposed to sign him.

Thiago Alcantara will reportedly sign a contract worth £4 million a year, once Bayern Munich agree a fee for his services. This news comes as a great blow to David Moyes' market plans at Manchester United, as he was said to be interested in bringing Thiago to the club.
