Goalkeeper:

Bernd  Leno;

This was a tough choice between Wolfsburg's Diego Benaglio and Bernd Leno; but I've gone with the latter for a consecutive week. The Leverkusen shot-stopper ensured that his side would leave Rhein-Neckar Arena with the three points; with extra helping from the referee. Not the most deserved three points for Leverkusen this season, as Hoffenheim will feel hard done by, Leno was superb for the team. On form, he proves just how good he could potentially be.

Defenders:

Phillip Lahm;

Phillip Lahm's in the Team Of The Week. In other news, water is wet. When his name emerges, it comes as no surprise. The Bayern captain had another stand-out performance for his boyhood side. When he was playing in midfield, Lahm was cooly dictating the play and dispatching the ball. Nothing 'Hollywood'. Lahm done the simple things effectively. He soon dropped to his familar right-back position, in which he also had a usual impact on the game. Regular involved in the playy and kept things ticking, Lahm was impressive (as virtually always) against Mainz.

Matthias Ginter;

If you didn't know Ginter was just nineteen years of age, you're forgiven. It's hard to realise at times with such displays, like his one against Werder Bremen. The 0-0 drought came to an end in this fixture, with Ginter being a reason why. A solid display from the youngster. Ginter was also reliable in possession when called upon to play from the back. He was also the man to keep Bremen's Nils Petersen quiet for the duration.

Sebastian Langkamp;

When Langkamp is missing, Hertha Berlin's defensive line looks weaker. Langkamp's presence and defensive re-assurance has a massive impact in his side. Having been sidelined with injury recently, other sides have been capable of exploiting Hertha's backline. However, the return of Langkamp this weekend agaist Münchengladbach proved timely; as he stood strong and protected Kraft from too much trouble. Considering Gladbach have one of the most potent attacks in Max Kruse and Raffael; Langkamp takes the plaudits for a solid display.

Ricardo Rodríguez;

The Swiss full-back has been one of Wolfsburg's better players this season; in a mixed, yet disappointing campaign thus far. However, in his sides 2-1 win away at Augsburg; Rodríguez was sublime. Positionally aware of what was going on around him and focused on the game. The left-back was my choice for Wolfsburg's man of the match award. Hhis ability to bomb down the left-side and threaten offensively proved vital as Wolfsburg claimed their first three points on the road.

Midfield;

Arjen Robben;

We all know just how good Arjen Robben is when on form. Saturday afternoon against Mainz proved one of those days. A goal and an assist to his name proved a statisical contribution for the Dutchman, who exploited Mainz' defensive frailities with ease, especially when Bayern needed one of their many big players to take centre stage. Despite a little incident with Thomas Müller over a penalty, it was a near perfect afternoon for Robben.

Tolgay Arslan;

Captain Van der Vaart may have been Hamburg's stand-out peformer; but Arslan stood out for independent reasons. Van Marwijk has dropped Arslan into a deeper role, where he looks far more comfortable and able to leave his mark in the game. He assisted Lasogga's opener and had an impressive ninety minutes against Suttgart. An integral part of Van Marwijk's reign which remains without defeat, so far.

Nuri Sahin;

Saturday against Hannover saw one of Sahin's finest displays since the 'Prodigal Son's' return to Dortmund. His fine displays recently will be leaving Klopp with a selection headache with Ilkay Gundogam's return on the horizon. Sahin made six key passes from his preferred deeper role against Hannover and completed five tackles. He's really stepped his game up in recent times.

Mario Götze;

After returning to fitness again, Götze showed the Bayern fans just what he's all about. A performance they've been craving since his big money arrival. A persistent dangerman that Mainz had a tough time dealing with. Götze changed the shape of the game entirely; contributing a 97% pass completion rate and bagging two assists in the process. Such a performance provides an excellent platform for him to build on at Bayern.

Strikers:

Adrian Ramos;

Ramos has become one of Hertha's 'port of call's' for goals this term. The hitman has responded well and been a reliable character throughout the season. Having only two chances, Ramos converted a well timed, powerful header that squirmed it's way past Ter-Stegen and the underside of the crossbar. However, his mobility and presence had Gladbach's back four alert at all times, as he ensured that they would not be having a stroll in the park.

Maximilian Beister;

Beister proved to be a super-sub for Hamburg and an excellent tactical addition from Van Marwijk. Beister exploded his way into the game within five minutes of the second half; teeing up the score to 2-2 at the '50 minute mark. He then went on to set-up his captain, Rafael Van der Vaart to make it 3-3. Perhaps Van Marwijk is the breath of fresh air Beister needed? Only time will tell.
