Germans Borussia Mönchengladbach have released their intentions in regards to striker Luuk De Jong. This season the Dutch striker has played thirteen times for ‘Die Fohlen’ but has not played any of those games from the start. Unfortunately for De Jong he has not really contributed to the successful season Borussia Mönchengladbach is having as they currently sit in third place in the German Bundesliga. This season will be very important for Luuk De Jong as the World Cup will be kicking off in the summer and he will need to play games.

Sporting Director Max Eberl told ‘Bundesliga.com’ that the German club would consider offers after a string of clubs including Everton, FC Twente, PSV Eindhoven and Stoke City demonstrated a recent interest. “If an interesting offer comes in for either of them, then we will look into it and consider alternatives. Of course I can understand that Luuk has other expectations for this season, which is perfectly legitimate. But our priority has got to be the best for Borussia and we can only play a strong second half of the season if we’ve got a well-balanced squad.”

However, you do get the impression that the Dutchman will be leaving in this transfer window with Newcastle United the favourites at the moment to land the striker.
