For the second time in just two months Italian Starlet Ciro Immobile has been linked to Borussia Dortmund. The twenty-four year old has been somewhat of a surprise this season in Italy' top flight for Torino with Twenty-One goals to date after only scoring five in the whole of the last term while at Genoa but he is currently on course to win the golden boot this season.

But who actually is he? Immobile came through the youth ranks at Sorrento and a after a very impressive 07/08 season with the u17 squad his thirty goals caught the eyes of giants Juventus, who signed him for just eighty thousand euros. He faced many spells out on loan in the lower tiers of Italian football and failed to make an impact on his first two loan spells at Siena and Grosetto respectively, However a loan move to Pescara for the 2011/12 season saw him make a huge impact popping up with twenty-eight goals in and thirty-seven appearances. After the loan expired he spent time at Genoa who had 50% ownership of the player alongside parent club Juventus and as previously mentioned he only scored five over the whole season. In the summer of 2013 Juventus bought Genoa' half of Immobile for €2.75 million on the same day as Torino did for the same fee, creating a new inner city co-ownership deal.

Reports suggest a €20 million fee would be enough to lure the recently capped Italian to the Westfalenstadion but any deal would have to be agreed with both Juventus and Torino. It had been suggested that Torino were going to buy out Juventus' half and completely own Immobile but they will be unable to compete with the financially strong German Giants.

A clinical finisher of the ball with a clear eye for goal is just what Dortmund need to replace Lewandowski. Even though Dortmund have already agreed deals for two attackers in Hertha's Adrian Ramos and Augsburg's Ji Dong Won,Immobile would be a welcomed arrival at Die Schwarzgelben should any move transpire.
