Marc Andre Ter-Stegen, twenty-two, has been part of "Die Fohlen" since he was just four years old and his eighteen year long service will come to an end when he signs for La Liga outfit Barcelona in the Summer.

Ter-Stegen made his final appearance in front of the Gladbach home fans in Saturday's 3-1 victory against Mainz. Prior to the game and then later after the game, Ter-Stegen was reduced to tears as he received gifts from the club officials including a set of framed gloves of his. His last hurrah in Borussia colours comes this Saturday away to Wolfsburg in what will undoubtedly be another emotional day for the promising talent.

Despite his emotions getting the better of him this past Saturday, He still stands firm that he is 100% sure of his Summer switch to the Catalan side.

Ter-Stegen was quoted to saying the following to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo;

“I think everyone understands why I cried. I’ve spent all my life at this club and it will always be in my heart. I thank the club and I’ll be a fan for life,”

“But while this goodbye is painful I don’t at all regret my departure. I’m 100% with my decision to sign for Barca.”
