It has been reported today that Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger was chasing Borussia Dortmund and Germany star Marco Reus before his injury just before the start of the World Cup.

The Mirror claim that Liverpool are currently in hot pursuit of his signature at the moment as Arsenal opted out after his injury. Kike Marin, a very respected journalist who works for Vozpopuli, said that Arsenal were preparing a £29 million move for the German. He tweeted "El #Arsenal estaba muy interesado en Reus y creo que podría haber pagado los €35 millones de su cláusula, pero su lesión lo paró todo", which translates into "Arsenal were very interested in Reus and think I could have paid € 35 million of its clause, but his injury stopped everything."

This rumour has appeared after Reus allegedly turned down a new contract at Dortmund. He is though currently contracted at Dortmund until 2017 so anyone interested in him will have to stump up a large fee for the forward.
