Earlier on today, Borussia Dortmund beat their fierce rivals Bayern Munich in the traditional German curtain-raiser before the new campaign in the Bundesliga gets underway, with a 2-0 victory in the German Super Cup final game thanks to goals from Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang either side of half-time.

Many people will be questioning whether or not Bayern are good enough to sustain the pressure and be able to regain their title as the Champions League winners in the upcoming season after being embarrassed by the counter-attacking power at the hands of Real Madrid in the semi-finals last time out.

And even though neither team had their full-strength squads available, it is known that you cannot win every match. Dortmund almost always seem to have a world-class team ethnic, but lose consistency towards the end of the season while trying to juggle different European competitions; which can be costly.

Meanwhile Bayern are the real superpower of the Bundesliga - they have signed two of Dortmund's finest players in Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski in the space of 12 months and they have no shortage of quality in depth at their disposal, under former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola.

However, there seems to be a stereotype forming - that the Bundesliga is a one-team league and Bayern are too dominant to be stopped. This is untrue because Bayern are unbeatable, you just need to know how to beat them. Chelsea, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are among the clubs to have beaten them in the past 2 years; but how do you do it?

Well firstly - you have to have a good game-plan going into the match. Bayern love to keep possession of the ball, so you have to be able to counter that and ensure that they are kept off the ball or pressured into making mistakes. For example, you could keep possession and make them chase, to frustrate them and eventually find pockets of space to run into.

Secondly - you need to have a good goalkeeper, because if your team is not strong enough to withstand the pressure from Bayern then you might aswell not play. Your goalkeeper has to be tall and strong, quick off his line and have experience in big games, for example someone like Thibaut Courtois or Petr Cech.

Also, your defenders need to be big-game players. They have to be able to read the game quickly and not be "star-struck" by the likes of Robben, Ribery and Lewandowski in the team; because otherwise they will get distracted, nervous and tend to make more mistakes. Examples of this are players such as Mats Hummels and Sergio Ramos.

Lastly - you should have a clinical striker who is proven to score goals under pressure, and a fast player behind him who can startle the defence. It is well-known that Bayern do not have the fastest of defenders, with Dante proving that fact.

Bayern are a good all-round team, don't get me wrong - but people seem to think that they cannot be beaten, when in reality they can. But ONLY, if the opposing team perform well no matter how good they are.
