Jürgen Klopp on; the performance.

“For the stage in which we find ourselves now, we played a very, very good game. We are certainly not undeserved winners and are now record supercup winners. For us it was also about responding to what happened in Liverpool. We didn’t like that. It was completely the opposite of the way we want to play football. Today I saw us playing our football again.”

Jürgen Klopp on; the formation.

“We played a diamond and Hoffi in the 10 role. The way Bayern play means that both strikers need to defend wide, with the 10 moving forward to apply pressure. The lads did that well, very well.”

Jürgen Klopp on; his team’s work ethic.

“We worked very well without the ball, defended high up the pitch and courageously. We stayed focused and tight, and created chances thanks to some great pressing. We forced the first goal and created and finished the second in great fashion. The biggest problem in games against Bayern Munich is to keep them from creating chances. We managed to do that for a long time as we defended very, very solidly. I’m very pleased about that.”

Jürgen Klopp on; any new injuries.

“Olli Kirch took a knock to the instep and has a little tear. Marcel Schmelzer has groin problems, and could be doubtful for Stuttgart. Sokratis has some problems, too. There were some great battles today, Lewandowski only knew Papa from training before and Papa is not this feisty in training."

Sebastian Kehl on; his last game as captain.

"(laughs) Yes, this departure was significantly nicer than it would have been if I'd worn the armband for the last time at 0-4 in Liverpool. I was pleased to be able to be captain again, whilst also celebrating a title. The last time to be first to lead the team into the stadium. That was a special moment for me. I enjoyed it a lot."

Sebastian Kehl on; Aubameyang and his mask.

"That was a cool action from him. I did not know, at all. that he had the mask there. It's the first time he's set it up in Dortmund. Luckily for him we have won, otherwise we would have probably beaten him for it (laughs)."

Sebastian Kehl on; the match.

"For this victory, we got no points in the Bundesliga. This game was not yet of a standard for what both teams can afford to be at in the season. We are on a good path. We have had a good pre-season, if we exclude the Liverpool game last Sunday. Of course we have ambitions, but Bayern also do. We will try again to play a good season, just as we have always done it in the past few years, this has served us well."
