Celtic central defender Virgil Van Dijk has been linked with a €12.5 million move to Hamburger SV.

The Dutchman who signed for current employers Celtic just last summer could be set for a big money move after a number of stand-out performances both domestically and in Europe. If a move was to go through at the rumoured €12.5 million, the current Scottish champions would make a whopping near £10m profit.

With Celtic being recently re-instated into the Champions League, the club remain hopeful of retaining one of their key men but the big money could tempt them into parting with him.

Hamburg have already spent €25 million plus on a handful of players ranging from World Cup stars to up and coming stars of tomorrow including turning Johan Djourou's loan move from Arsenal permanent.

The Celtic player of the year has even been linked with a move to Man United and Southampton this summer amongst others. Hamburg are the latest side to join the long list of potential suitors for the twenty-three year old.
