Bayern Munich-Hamburger SV and Eintracht Frankfurt-Borussia Mönchengladbach were the ties of the second round, after the DFB Pokal second stages were drawn.
After some first round shocks, including Schalke, Stuttgart and Mainz' departures, there were some teams looking forward to glamour ties. Chemnitzer, who had put out Mainz, were drawn to play Werder Bremen. Stuttgart's victors, Bochum, got paired up with Dynamo Dresden. The East German club were responsible for dumping Schalke out of the competition.
Minnows Madgeburg, who had toppled Augsburg, looked forward to welcoming Bayer Leverkusen. Offenbach Kickers would face Karlsruher; while fellow Regionalliga side Kickers Würzburg, had a tie against Eintracht Braunschweig on the horizon.
The fanatic fans of Borussia Dortmund would travel to the equally passionate St. Pauli, with the atmosphere expected to be off the charts. Arminia Bielefeld would play host to Hertha Berlin, likewise with Duisburg welcoming Köln. 1860 Munich-Freiburg, Hoffenheim-FSV Frankfurt, Aalen-Hannover and Kaiserslautern-Geuther Fürth, would all play on October 28/29th.
Wolfsburg-Heidenheim and RB Leipzig-Erzgebirge Aue were among the last teams out of the hat. However, the stand out ties were most definitely Bayern-HSV and Frankfurt-Gladbach. If it's anything like the previous round, it'll be a treat for one and all.
