With one foot already in the group stages of the Europa League, Borussia Mönchengladbach will be looking to complete the job when they take on FK Sarajevo.

Die Fohlen lead 3-2 from their win in Bosnia and Herzegovina last week, with two goals from Branimir Hrgota and a goal from Andre Hahn to return to Germany with three away goals.

Even with a 1-0 or a 2-1 loss, Borussia will still progress through to the group stages. However, Lucien Favre knows just what FK Sarajevo are capable of following their comebacks in previous rounds against FK Haugesund and Artromitos Athens.

"It has not yet been decided [the tie]. Sarajevo are dangerous away from home," said Favre in his pre-match press conference. "We have to put in a good performance in order to make it through."

Christoph Kramer may start the tie following his first substitute appearance following his return from Brazil as a world champion. The 23-year old midfielder scored the equaliser in the 90th minute to rescue a point against VfB Stuttgart in the opening round of the Bundesliga.

"He's come on a lot since winning the World Cup. He's louder in training and more vocal on the pitch," said Favre.

Max Kruse is still declared as unfit to play and will miss the tie, despite returning to training on Monday. The German international received surgery for a ureteral stone, Favre told reporters: "For him to make an appearance on Thursday would definitely be too early."

FK Sarajevo coach, Abdulah Ibrakovic is likely to make one change to the starting line-up that lost the first leg. Haris Duljevic is expected to start the tie after finding the back of the net after coming off the bench in the first leg.

This will be the second time the teams have met in their history, the first being last weeks 3-2 win for Borussia. Hrgota will be looking to continue his form following two goals last week and an impressive pre season campaign.

The last time that Borussia featured in the Europa League was during the 2012/13 season, having been knocked out to Serie A side Lazio (5-3 aggregate) in the Round of 32.

Defender Tony Jantschke was also present in the pre-match press conference: "You can see from their past results that our opponents do not have any fear and proved in their home match that they also have a lot of quality in attack.

"We want to make it through to the group stages with question and want to seal the deal in front of our fans on Thursday.

The Europa League is a rewarding competition that we all take very seriously. We're going to give it our all to ensure that we can play a minimum of six more games in the Europa League."

Should Borussia progress through to the group stages, they will find out who they will face in the Europa League draw which will take place today at 13.00 CET in Monaco.
