Franck Ribery is set to return for Bayern Munich against VfB Stuttgart at the weekend, making his first appearance of the season following a knee injury.

The Frenchman has had a trouble time of late, last making an appearance for Bayern during the DFB-Pokal final against Borussia Dortmund before being ruled out of the World Cup with a back injury.

"I feel good, and I'm fit for Saturday. Now I need to get into a rhythm," Ribery told the Bayern's official website.

The midfielder featured 18 times in the Bundesliga last season for Bayern, scoring 10 goals in the process, as well as contributing nine assists.

Ribery also appeared in the Champions League for Bayern last season, which included a 5-0 aggregate loss to eventual winners, Real Madrid.

The 31-year old has since retired from the international scene, to the disgust of UEFA President and French legend, Michel Platini, who has threatened Ribery with a club suspension should he not return to the French national team.
