Mirko Slomka has been told by bosses at Hamburg SV that he has two games to to turn the side around, according to the Hamburger Morgenpost.

HSV lost 2-0 at home to Hannover 96 on Sunday after a disappointing display and currently sit bottom of the Bundesliga table with only a solitary point to their name.

Slomka took over at Die Roten Hosen in February when the club was flirting with relegation, but managed to maintain their status as a top flight club after defeating SpVgg Greuther Fürth on away goals.

HSV rightly made a number of signings over the summer, seven to be precise, to improve their fortunes on the field, but have yet to register a single goal this season.

That is despite bringing in players such as Nicolai Müller, who impressed up front at Mainz 05 last season, and Tottenham's Lewis Holtby, brought in on loan; a player who is familiar with the Bundesliga having played for Schalke 04 and the aforementioned Mainz.

Slomka's league record at the Imtech Arena club now shows only three victories from seventeen matches, so it comes as no surprise that a number of managers have been tipped for the hotseat, most notably Thomas Tuchel.

However the current manager must focus his attention on the next game; a home game against champions Bayern Munich. They certainly don't come much tougher than that.
