Bundesliga side Hamburg have dismissed coach Mirko Slomka after just seven months following a disappointing start to the 2014/15 season.

Sporting director Dietmar Beiersdorfer met with Slomka this evening, before HSV's media director Jörn Wolf later confirmed that they had parted ways with the manager.

The 47-year old became under increased pressure following a 2-0 defeat to former club Hannover 96 on Sunday, dropping Hamburg to the foot of the table.

HSV have picked up just one point in three games, drawing 0-0 against newly promoted FC Köln on the opening day of the campaign.

Slomka and Co then suffered a 3-0 defeat at home to SC Paderborn 07, a team that had never experienced the Bundesliga before.

Despite bringing in noticable signings, Nicolai Müller, Valon Behrami and Lewis Holtby, the team haven't looked strong in both defence and attack, having yet to record a goal this season.

HSV welcome champions Bayern Munich to the Imtech Arena on matchday four, with the Bavarian club currently unbeaten in Bundesliga, sitting third.
