Eintracht Frankfurt will have to do without star player and goalkeeper Kevin Trapp for 3 months after he fractured his ankle joint in his left foot in Tuesday nights game versus Mainz.

The 24-year-old limped off in the dying embers of the game and was replaced by Felix Wiedwald in between the sticks. Trapp had a relatively quiet game, apart from giving away a penalty that was then overturned.

With the former Kaiserslautern 'keeper sidelined for approximately 3 months, Wiedwald has huge gloves to fill in and his first chance to showcase his ability comes on Sunday when he will kit up and face Bundesliga's ever present Hamburger SV.

Wiedwald was a product of the Werder Bremen youth system and made one senior appearance during his time at the WeserStadion before being released. He was then picked up by Duisburg who he spent two seasons with before Frankfurt signed him in 2013 as Trapp's deputy.
