Freiburg's Mage Solar Stadion will now be known as Schwarzwald-Stadion (Black Forrest Stadium) club officials announced today.
A statement on the club's website read "The Schwarzwald Tourism association today (Thursday) acquired naming rights of the SC Stadium on the Black Forrest Road."
Freiburg's Mayor, Dieter Salomon had the following to say about the name change, "The connection of the city of Freiburg and the Black Forest holiday region with SC Freiburg is even stronger with the name Black Forest Stadium. Due to the media coverage of the SC results with this name, It gives an enormous advertisement for the entire region."
The name change will go through on October 7th unless the local council declines the change at their meeting.
