Pepe Reina pulled a muscle in his left calf early on in Bayern Munich's 5-1 win over the Paulaner Dream team.

The Paulaner Cup allows Bayern fans a chance to play against their heroes in a one-off friendly game, regardless of ability. Unfortunately for Pepe Reina, he was to fall foul to an early injury problem. His first start for the Bavarians, albeit an unofficial game, lasted just five minutes. A pulled left calf muscle, with no other players around him, meant that Tom Starke replaced him almost immediately.

A diagnosis will be carried out early on Tuesday morning. It's far from the ideal start to the Spaniard's career in Germany. After a loan to Napoli last season, he made the move from Liverpool for £2.65 million. An astute signing when the transfer fee, experience and ability of Reina is taken into consideration, especially for a back-up goalkeeper. Bayern and Pep Guardiola will be hopeful that it is nothing more than a minor tweak.
