Fantastic finishes from Hendrick Zuck and Raffael Korte were enough for Braunschweig to see of 1860 Munich; even though Christian Schindler had pulled the hosts level in the first half.

Fresh from a 4-1 drubbing at Erzgebirge Aue, 1860 Munich were keen to avoid a fourth loss in five games. Gary Kagelmacher, Grzegorz Wojtkowiak and Julian Wiegl were dropped, allowing Kai Bülow, Sebastian Hertner and Daylon Claasen to take their places. Thorsten Lieberknecht was also keen on change following his side's 2-2 draw with Greuther Fürth. Saulo Decarli and Mushaga Bakenga were taken from the starting eleven, with Damir Vrancic and Dennis Kruppke replacing them.

The game started brightly for the visitors, with plenty of dangerous attacking play. 1860 were struggling as things were and when Hendrick Zuck and Vegar Hedenstad exchanged passes down the left hand side, things were about to get much worse. Drifting inside, Zuck darted past the static Munich defence and rifled a shot across Stefan Ortega. A wonderfully worked goal from the two loanees had lifted the strong showing of Braunschweig fans, with Lieberknecht smiling like a Cheshire cat.

However, the hosts began to come into things more and were rewarded when Daniel Adlung's curled costless-kick was met by Christian Schnindler. The captain came in at pace towards the back post and buried the header past a helpless Rafael Ginkiewicz, just what was needed in Bavaria. While they would force further chances and get into the dressing rooms level, it took just four minutes after the break for Braunschweig to take the lead again.

1860 failed to clear a corner and Raffael Korte picked the ball up on the edge of the box. Some quick feet, thinking and a lovely flick resulted in Korte smashing home a lovely volley from 16 yards. Using the outside of his foot, he measured the finish to perfection and a fully extended Ortega was powerless to do anything. Pressure came from the hosts, who forced Marcel Correia and Benjamin Kessel to hack the ball clear on more than one occasion.

Ryu Sueng-Woo had a late strike ruled out for offside, but Braunschweig had done enough to earn an important win and move up the table into tenth place. Their first away win of the season will send them into the DFB Pokal in a bullish mood. The woeful run Munich are on seems to be never-ending, as they remain bottom with just nine points from ten games. A trip to out of form Bochum could turn things round, but it's a big ask when away to one of the league's costless-scoring sides.
