Shawn Parker will be unavailable for selection for another two or three weeks after arriving at Ausburg this summer.

The 21-year old appeared for Ausburg against Dortmund in late August but has failed to be in the matchday squad since then.

"He is doing everything to be 100% fit," - Weinzierl

Parker trained but the connection with the first team has been lost since he returned from the September international break. The new addition to 10th placed Ausburg has had a knee irritation for two months now and will remain on the sidelines for another two or three weeks.

"This [knee irritation] has hampered him in recent weeks over and over again," says coach Mark Weinzierl.

His right knee has responded to being under load and the problem is believed to be a fold of the mucus membrane causing him to repeatedly miss training. No permanent improvement has occurred as of yet so Parker must now take a long break of two to three weeks while treating it conservatively.

Should the injury not improve after Parker's rest, the 1.8 million euro signing will have to undergo an operation keeping him out for even longer.

"He is doing everything to be 100% fit," said Weinzierl, "We hope that he won't be out for too long"
