At the Commerzbank-Arena, the Champions ran wild in Frankfrut as they defeated the hosts easily, by a score of 0-4, after starting out a little sluggish on Saturday evening.

Eintracht Frankfurt had started the match well, not necessarily going forward, but they were able to styme Bayern Munich's attack, at least for a while. In the 23rd minute of play, Frank Ribery found Thomas Müller as he tapped the ball into the back of the net to give the visitors the early 0-1 lead over Frankfurt. Robert Lewandowski and Ribery were excellent in the build up play that lead to the opening goal of the match for the Bundesliga leaders.

Bayern did not seem like their typical self. Despite being up a goal Pep's side looked kind of complacent heading into the international break and maybe that was the case. Frankfurt had their best chance of the half five minutes before the interval as Alexander Meier hit an exquisite costless kick with his right foot that looked destined to go into the bottom right hand corner. However, life is easier with Manuel Neuer in between the sticks, and he was able to dive down quickly to keep the ball from going over the line.

The second half was much of the same throughout the first fifteen minutes as both sides were playing sloppy and Bayern were just all out of sync. Lewandowski had a header stopped easily by Wiedwald, as the Polish striker simply didn't put enough power behind his attempt. But then suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, Bayern double their lead. They hit Frankfurt on the counter and it was Müller again that provided the devstating blow that crushed the hearts of the Eagles faithful.

But the Champions weren't done yet. Not even two minutes had eclipsed off the clock as Thomas Müller scored his third to finish off his hat-trick. Mario Götze provided a lovely chipped ball into the run of the goal-scorer who was able to place the ball into the back of the net in fine fashion. Frankfurt's defense looked like it fell asleep for a second and a second is all Bayern need to punish the opposition. The visitors nabbed one more goal, to pad stat-sheets at this point, as Robben played a wonderful ball to Shaqiri and he scored Bayern's second tap-in goal of the match to give them an astounding 0-4 lead and finish off the match for good in the 86th minute of the match.
