Real Madrid central midfielder Álvaro Medrán could be on the move, with several Bundesliga clubs circling round the 20-year-old.

Bayer Leverkusen, Mainz and Hannover are among the German top-flight sides that are interested. Medrán is currently playing a star role for Zinedine Zidane's Real Madrid Castilla, who are aiming to bounce back to the Segunda division. Playing at the heart of midfield, the youngster has netted five goals this season and is the team's top goal-scorer.

According to Marca, he is reportedly looking for regular first-team football. That could mean a loan is on the cards and, if he isn't promoted to the Real Madrid team proper, he could then be sold. Almería, Córdoba and Espanyol all expressed an interest, but Zidane stood firm and Medrán stayed put. The Frenchman isn't the only one realising the talents of Medrán; Carlo Ancelotti has also been giving him brief cameo appearances in the first-team proper.

Following his debut against Rayo Vallecano, he had this to say: “It was a strange feeling. You are playing alongside the best players in the world and you’re trying to break into the squad. You have to make the most of your chances in order to reach your best. Now I’m itching to play with Castilla and, if possible, score."

Chelsea had made an approach in 2012, but Real managed to hold onto him after offering a bumper contract. Whether they can hold onto him this time, his current contract runs until 2017,  remains to be seen. What is for sure, however, is that Real will be desperate to keep on of 'La Fabrica's' prized possessions at the club.
