Following the lack of game time for Barcelona this season, it appears that the Catalonian club's right-back Martín Montoya could be on the move.

German newspaper Bild have been reporting Leverkusen boss Roger Schmidt is keen on replacing the faltering Roberto Hilbert and Guilo Donati. Tin Jedvaj has been impressive in spurts, but all three have failed to provide any stability in the right-back role.

A fee of around €8-10million is thought to be enough to snatch him from Barcelona, with current coach Luis Enrique favouring veteran Brazilian defender Dani Alves to the Spanish youngster.

It comes as a surprise, when it was Enrique who gave Montoya his break with the Barca' B side back in 2009-10. Alves has been on a steady decline himself, so a decision to sell Montoya, a ready-made replacement, could prove costly.

A move could happen in January, with Schmidt keen to get a deal done before any of the other interested clubs manage to wrangle a deal before the Westphalians. The Spaniard has been on the radar of Liverpool, Napoli, Inter Milan and Marseille.
