Bayern Munich continue their fine Bundesliga form, as the title favourites humiliate this season's underdogs 4-0 at the Allianz Arena.

The first chance of the game came to Hoffenheim, as Anthony Modeste almost gave the visitors a shock lead in the tenth minute after Kevin Volland was allowed to break into the Bayern penalty box. The German international crossed the ball into an unmarked Modeste, but his header went inches wide of the post. Munich had chances in the opening twenty minutes through Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben but Hoffenheim 'keeper Oliver Baumann did well to stop the Bayern attackers.

The Bayern attacks finally paid off as Mario Götze gave the reigning Bundesliga champions the lead in the 22nd minute. The 22-year-old picked up the ball from 25-yards out and the former Dortmund player blasts the ball past Baumann with a brilliant, swervingshot to give Bayern the lead.

Hoffenheim almost nicked an equaliser soon after, when Manuel Neuer for the first time was almost caught out in the penalty box by Tarik Elyounoussi, but the German 'keeper kept his composure and cleared the ball away from Elyounoussi with a clever Cruyff turn. Robert Lewandowski made it 2-0 to the hosts after a Robben cross found the Polish striker unmarked in the box and the striker headed in from six-yards.

Bayern’s first attack of the second-half almost resulted in Götze's second, but some brilliant keeping from Baumann prevented the German from scoring. Hoffenheim were denied a penalty after Volland was brought down by Mehdi Benatia in the box, only for Peter Gagelmann to wave play on. Neuer was called into action for the first time after Volland’s shot from close range, but it was well tipped over by the Germany number one.

Sven Schipplock had the chance of the game for Hoffenheim, as Roberto Firmino did well to beat Dante and get a cross into the box, which found Schipplock. Unfortunately the striker's shot was brilliantly saved by Neuer to keep the score at 2-0. In the 76th minute the Allianz Arena as Bastian Schweinsteiger made his first appearance this season and his return to the Bayern team after a long injury absence.

Arjen Robben ended all hope of a Hoffenheim comeback with a brilliant goal. The Dutch winger danced his way past the Hoffenheim defence and a quick one-two with Schweinsteiger put Robben one-on-one with Baumann, he nonchalantly chipped the ball over the Hoffenheim keeper to make it 3-0.

Bayern where not done there as Sebastian Rode made it 4-0 to the hosts. After a brilliant pass from Schweinsteiger, Rode found himself on his own in the box and the holding midfielder smashed the ball past Baumann to complete the rout. Rode almost had a second two minutes later, when his curling shot from outside the box bounced off the crossbar. Hoffenheim went down to 10 men in the 89th minute when Adam Szalai recklessly studded Dante, and the referee had no choice but to send the striker off.
