With two sides battling to regain their form, the blue-and-white stripes will travel to fifth place Mönchengladbach in a matchup for either club to get some sort of momentum built up to kick-start their season back into gear. Marco Fritz is this match's referee and he does not produce a whole lot of yellow cards, anywhere between two  and four per match. This means that Mr. Fritz is fairly lenient when it comes to the physical aspect of the game which is always a good thing to let the play flow.

There was a lot of hope for the foals at the beginning of the season, especially after their 4-1 thumping of Schalke 04 and went on a stretch where they did not lose a match in league play until the early part of November when they lost to Borussia Dortmund on the road. That match was essentially the start of the snowball as they haven't managed a single point in the league since then as well as barely being able to muster a goal of their own. Fortunately, the visitors have not been in fine form themselves so if they can knock a couple of goals into the net this could give them the confidence to climb back into the possibility of a Champions League spot.

Hertha BSC have been struggling all season long. They have not been able to get any sort of consistency in their form to gain momentum. Fans were hopeful that the signing of Salomon Kalou and although he has provided four goals for the squad, they need more from the supporting cast in order to maintain that mid-table place. Last time out against Bayern Munich they played fairly well defensively as they only gave up one goal to the defending champions, but they were chasing the ball most of the match unable to provide much of an offensive spark of their own.

Do not expect much from this match as both sides like to play a little defensive as of late. There will probably only be a goal or two in this at most and it will most likely come off of a set-piece of some sort whether it is off of a corner or a costless kick.
