After a late, late winner against FC Köln, Augsburg have very real aspirations of challenging for a European place this season.

Markus Weinzierl: "When things go well, they go really well. When you win in the 90th minute, it can be lucky, but this was not undeserved."

Peter Stöger's men were crushed by the late goal, after they had led through Anthony Ujah's first-half strike: "We could have already decided the game before half-time. What we have shown in the second half was not enough. We have afforded too little in resistance." Weinzierl, who was beaming, agreed with his counterpart's summary of the game. The win has taken the Bavarian's into third place: "In the first half, it did not work out so well, but in the second half we were the better team. We always believed and were rewarded."

Tobias Werner, his usual influential self, was also pleased with his team-mate's efforts, "We are FC Augsburg, we are euphoric but down to earth. If the coach sometime sets new goals, we will implement them. But none of us players will have a big nose." The wide-man turned attentions to the Bavarian derby next weekend, with arguably the league's two most in-form sides going head-to-head, "If we also beat Bayern next week, then we can talk about it. We have already proven that we can annoy Bayern."
