After much speculation about his future, the talented youngster has committed until 2016 with the Kickers.

Besar Halimi: "Through my transfer the club has given me great confidence, now I want to repay them."

On Tuesday, just two days before he turned twenty, Besar Halimi put pen-to-paper and extended his deal with the Swabians. It was the perfect early Christmas present for the team, with Michael Zweyer over-the-moon, "We are glad that Besar is staying with us. He was developed very well and has increased the quality of our team tremendously. We believe that, at the present time, Besar has made the right move," said the Kickers' sporting director.

He wasn't the only one who was ecstatic, as head coach Horst Steffen also spoke of his happiness: "Besar is a very important part of our game plan and, from the beginning, he has been of great service to the team. I look forward to continuing to work with such a talented footballer."

Halimi has notched up eleven assists and two goals since his move from VfB Stuttgart II this summer. This form attracted interest from around Europe, with some of the continents' top clubs being touted as possible suitors. However, the November Player of the Month has stayed loyal to the 3.Liga's fifth placed side, "Through my transfer the club has given me great confidence, now I want to repay them. I am incredibly grateful to the Kickers and will do everything that I can to achieve our ambitious goals."

He said and he's happy that he can focus on football, "I am happy that the contract extension is off the table and I am now fully able to concentrate on the next matches. Finally, I would like to thank the fans who have always been behind me and supporting me since my transfer." The Kickers have two more games before the Winter break; they face Regensburg and Großaspach, with the Blues five points behind leaders Ariminia Bielefeld.
