South Korean striker Ji Dong Won looks set to be leaving the yellow and black of Dortmund for the red of Freiburg. The out of form striker is set to hold talks within the next few weeks.

The young Dortmund striker looks set to be leaving for new pastures with Freiburg, after failing to make an impact since his summer move. The 23-year-old has struggled to get into a misfiring BVB side; with players such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ciro Immobile and club record signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan in front of him. Having only made five appearances and scoring zero goals, the summer signing has failed to live up to expectation after a successful period on loan at Bundesliga rivals Augsburg.

This led Dortmund coach Jürgen Klopp to believe he would have the same impact on his Borussia side after signing a four year contract. Fans of the German giants agreed and thought he would become an impact player, but after the first half of the season their hopes have been tainted with the striker getting a number of injuries and not performing when given the chance in the BVB II side. Freiburg coach Christian Streich said, "We are looking at it, it is quite possible that we are doing something in the attack."

Freiburg, who themselves have struggled to get goals this season, are the the fourth lowest scorers in the league. They'll be looking to get a talented talisman into their side and with Dong-Won being out of favour in Dortmund, this could lead to the club getting a better deal for the South Korean international. Along with the striker himself looking to guarantee his international starting place, getting first team football is the perfect plan. Both teams have had disappointing starts to the season and with Freiburg the more likely of both to struggle, they will be hoping to wrap up a deal as soon as possible.
