At the SGL Arena, in Augsburg, it took Bayern Munich 58 minutes before they broke the deadlock and once they did they asserted their offensive dominance and won easily by a score of 0-4.

It was all Bayern Munich in the opening few minutes, as everyone predicted it would be, and Bastian Schweinsteiger had the first opportunity of the match with just three minutes off of the clock but his effort did not even trouble Augsburg goalkeeper, Alex Manninger. Tobias Werner had a chance down on the other end of the pitch for the home side, unfortunately, the ball fell easily for Manuel Neuer. Arjen Robben had a couple of chances, but both of his shots sailed well over the goal in the early going. Djurdjic had a look at goal, however, his header was poor and it didn’t even trouble Neuer.

After the 20th minute of player, the visitors started to assert their dominance on the match, but Augsburg defense held strong. Bayern had a flurry of chances, they just could not manage to find the back of the net. On the other end, Werner had a shot saved by Neuer, right at the half hour mark. Then it was Robert Lewandowski's turn to have a go, but he dragged his shot wide of the goal. Manninger was on top of his game in the first 45 minutes and it looked like that he was going to be a key part in spoiling the Bundesliga leader's party.

The second half started just like the first as the visitors dominated the possession and created the most opportunities within the first ten minutes of the half. Lewandowski had a couple of looks, neither were troubling Augsburg goalkeeper, however. Frank Ribery had a go, in the 53rd minute of play, but his left-footed shot was always going wide of Manninger's goal. However, just five minutes later, Bayern Munich would go in front through a lovely goal from Mehdi Benatia. That goal would open the flood gates for the champions as just one minute later Arjen Robben would get his sides second goal of the match. But then they just kept piling on the pressure and the Polish international striker, Robert Lewandowski got third goal, in the 68th minute of play.

In a matter of minutes Augsburg look like they could steal something from this match to being completely outclassed by the opposition. The visitors would get their fourth goal of the match as Arjen Robben would bag his second with 19 minutes left to go. From this point on it was just waiting until time ran out as the leaders were comfortable moving the ball around from side to side as they knew that they had all three points wrapped up.
