The former Switzerland, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich coach thinks that his two former clubs will still be going toe-to-toe in the coming years.

Ottmar Hitzfeld enjoyed success at BVB and Bayern. His triumph with the Westphalians in the 1997 Champions League will live long in the memory. He also managed to win the European Cup in Bavaria, as the Swiss coach won a total of eighteen titles while in Germany.

Now retired, he thinks that Dortmund are still pose the biggest challenge to Bayern:

"Klopp's still young, he will get through this current low," the retired coach told the Kölner Express.

"They'll recover by staying calm and taking responsibility. The most important thing is the players are true to Klopp. Starring for them is a ticket to the international teams. Dortmund remain the most threatening opponent to Bayern in coming years."

BVB are currently third from bottom in the Bundesliga, having accumulated just 15 points from 16 games. They face bottom placed Werder Bremen on Saturday, hoping to put some distance between them and the notherners. Bayern, meanwhile, sit an enormous eleven points clear of Wolfsburg, as they look set to romp home to yet another Bundesliga crown.
