After yet another defeat, Borussia Dortmund could find themselves bottom of the Bundesliga at Christmas. Werder Bremen, on the other hand, were jubiliant with their 2-1, here's what players from both sides made of the result.

Mats Hummels had seemingly given Dortmund a way back into the game, but they couldn't find a second goal. The skipper can't believe how abysmal their away form has been, "We're trying to get our heads round this. In the last few weeks we've been okay and at home we seem to have turned a corner, but away from home, it's been anything but. It's quite unbelievable how rubbish we've been away from home."

Mitchell Langerak still isn't sure what the problem is, "It's difficult to say what's going wrong, I for one can't really explain it. The early goal obviously changed things and played into Bremen's hands. It's clear that we're not in a good situation and need to turn things around urgently in the Rückrunde." The Aussie emphasised the need for a quick turnaround and to get things right in the winter break, "The main thing we have to do is work hard. The preparation will be very important and all that counts is putting points on the board. We didn't start that well today, we lost our stability and played without organisation. Like I said, we have to improve this situation urgently."

The man of the match, Davie Selke, who got a goal and an assist, was aware of the effort put in, "We made sure that we give it everything in every game and it was an important win today."

Clemens Fritz, Bremen captain, couldn't hide his delight, "We knew it was a massive game and we’re delighted to have won it. Now we can go into the winter break on a positive note."

Finally Werder coach, Viktor Skripnik, was proud of his entire team and the fans, "We are very pleased and excited about the huge win at home just before Christmas. The last few days have not been easy with the stress and the criticism that we got. I am glad that we have given it an answer today. Each individual has shown a top performance this afternoon. The fans have given us great support and a great atmosphere, for this, I am very grateful."
