Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Braunschweig have agreed to extend Ryu Seung-Woo's loan with the lions until the end of the season.

After scoring the winner against Heidenheim in the final Braunschweig game of 2014, it would have been the perfect Christmas present and send-off for Ryu. However, it was announced on Sunday that the South Korean would bring a smile to the Lower Saxony side's fans once more.

He's gradually worked his way into Torsten Lieberknecht's side and has scored four goals in twelve games. His loan was scheduled to end at the beginning of January, but the clubs both decided that it would be more beneficial for the attacker's development to stay in Braunschweig.

Sporting director at the Lions, Marc Arnold, spoke to eintracht.com about the deal, "After Seung-Woo worked through the initial adjustment period, we could convince them that not only on the pitch but in our daily work that he can help us. Therefore, Ryu and both clubs have decided together that it is more than reasonable, for his personal development and for the achievement of our goals, that he remains in Braunschweig until the summer."

The player himself was ecstatic to remain with his adopted team, "I'm really looking forward much to staying in Braunschweig and continuing to work with the coaches and my teammates. After the winter break I will have more experience and will be playing at full throttle. I would like to thank Eintracht and Bayer Leverkusen for such positive discussions."

Braunschweig ended 2014 with a 1-0 win over Heidenheim, which leaves them joint second in the 2.Bundesliga table.
