Borussia Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg have agreed a deal that will take the highly sought-after Kevin Kampl to the Westfalenstadion.

Announced on Monday evening, the Slovenian international would commit to BVB until 2019. The clubs agreed that the transfer fee would remain undisclosed, although kicker estimate it to be in the region of €10-12 million.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc gave his thoughts on the signing, "Kevin Kampl is a versatile attacking-midfielder, who we have been observing for some time. His style of play fits in perfectly with our own."

Kampl arrives with a very impressive record. Born in Germany, he's made fourteen appearances for Slovenia and scored once. He was part of the Salzburg side that Roger Schmidt, now Bayer Leverkusen boss, built up. In Austria scored 29 goals and made 54 assists, in all competitions.

Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig were all rumoured to be keen on the 24-year-old. Having chosen Dortmund, it will give the club a much needed boost following their dreadful Hinrunde campaign.
