SC Freiburg have signed Cardiff City midfielder Mats Møller Daehli for an undisclosed fee.

Møller Daehli has fell out of favour with new Bluebirds boss Russell Slade, having only managed two substitute appearances since his arrival. Previously the Norweigan had made an impact in the chances he was given in the Premier League, even scoring a ninety-fifth minute equaliser against West Bromwich Albion.

Sat joint bottom of the Bundesliga, with Borussia Dortmund, many players may opt for a better placed club, but Daehli is looking forward to the coming months, "This is a good club with a successful history in developing young players. The Bundesliga is a great challenge and it will be tough, but I'm looking forward to it. I am proud and happy to have signed with Freiburg."

Known for his pace and dribbling, the 19-year-old will be a great acquisition for Christian Streich's side. Sporting director Jochen Saier is happy they've finally got their man, "Mats Møller Daehli is a very interesting player, who we have observed for several years. Therefore we are very pleased that we finally made it happen and that he has decided to transfer to us. We gain a technically talented, agile offensive player who will help our attack in the Rückrunde."

As per a statement on the Cardiff City website, Daehli will join on January 3rd. Although not known, the fee is expected to be around €2million. It continued to thank him for his efforts, "We would like to place on record our thanks to Mats for his contribution and wish him the very best for his future."
