On Monday, Bundesliga side FC Freiburg - along with the signing of Mats Moller Daehli from Cardiff City - announced the aquisition of Nils Petersen, on a loan deal, from league rivals Werder Bremen.

"He has already demonstrated his danger"

- Jochen Saier

Petersen started just two league games for Bremen so far thsi season, and Freburg's sporting director Jochen Saier believes that he wil be a good addition to the squad, with a track record of scoring goals: "With Nils Petersen we undertook a striker who has already demonstrated his danger in front of goal in recent seasons," he said. Freiburg fans will be hoping that Peterson's danger asserts itself for their side, as they sit joint-bottom of the Bundesliga table with just 15 points from 17 games - while averaging just one goal per game.

Furthermore, Saier touched upon the fact that Petersen has not been given the opportunities he would have expected at Bremen, and thus the move will open up a great chance for a fresh start for the 26-year-old forward: "We are convinced that he will help us with his presence and his final quality. He showed from the first meeting that he's looking for a new start for himself at Freiburg."
