The Brazilian midfielder leaves Hannover 96 without playing a single game.

Franca arrived in Lower Saxony from Noroeste for €1.3 million back in January 2013, but he never featured once under Mirko Slomka or Tayfun Kokut. He made the headlines when he initially joined, after tuberculosis struck him down for four months at the beginning of 2013.

He spent loan spells at both Palmeiras and Figueirense this year, but after his contract, which ran until June 2016, was dissolved it is unclear as to which side he'll join.

Hannover President Martin Kind explained the situation: "Unfortunately no-one wanted to buy him. Economically, it made sense for us to limit the damage. Therefore we have dissolved the contract with Hannover and then he can sign a new contract in Brazil."

Hannover currently sit in eighth place after a very promising Hinrunde. They're just three points off of the final Champions League qualifying place in the Bundesliga and will hope to mount a challenge for the Europa League spots in the months ahead.
