FC Köln coach Peter Stöger has told kicker about admiration for Pawel Olkowski, who joined for costless in the summer.

Since arriving from Gornik Zabrze, Olkowski has been nothing short of a revelation. He's managed two goals and three assists in the Hinrunde, while almost overtaking club captain Miso Brecko in the pecking order.

The Pole has featured in sixteen games this term, with Brecko appearing in just ten. However, the pair formed a formidable partnership when played together. Speaking on Wednesday, Stöger had this to say on the 24-year-old:

"He [Olkowski] has developed brilliantly. He has become an integral part of the team. I am very glad that we found him.

"He's a big plus. He is a full-back, who can also play more advanced. With his speed, his attacking instinct and robustness.

"He is a very modern full-back."

The Billy Goats currently sit in eleventh place, although they are just two points ahead of Werder Bremen in sixteenth. Despite this, it has been a promising start to their return to the Bundesliga.
