1860 Munich midfielder Marin Tomasov has joined HNK Rijeka, the club announced on Saturday.

It had been expected that the Croatian would return to his home country, so his contract was terminated by mutual consent and that meant he could freely move to HNK.

Gerhard Poschner, sporting director, thanked the wide-player for his commitment to the Lions: "I wish Marin nothing but the best for the future."

The 27-year-old recently returned home to Croatia after the birth of his second child, so the move will suit him well.

Tomasov managed three goals and five assists in forty-one games at the Allianz Arena, following his move from Hadjuk Split. Rijeka are currently a very comfortable second place in the 1.HNL, a huge thirteen points clear of Split.

1860 also lost Grzegorz Wojtkowiak on Saturday. It was a similar situation to his former team-mate, as the Pole also agreed a mutual termination of his contract to move to Polish side Lechia Gdansk.
