Talented youngster Thomas Pledl has joined FC Ingolstadt on a deal until 2019.

Pledl, 20, has made 13 appearances for the Shamrocks this term and is a part of the German youth set-up. He follows in the footsteps of fellow forward Stefan Lex, who made the same move during the Winter break last year.

"Thomas came to us with the desire to transfer. We have closely examined the request he made to us and finally decided to let the player leave at a suitable price," said SpVgg President Helmut Hack.

Ingolstadt sporting director Thomas Linke was pleased to commit another talented youngster to the club, after Max Christiansen's signing on Friday: "We look forward to welcoming another highly talented players in our ranks. He fits our philosophy well and will continue to develop very well for us."

Pledl himself spoke about his second move in Bavaria, after joining Fürth from 1860 Munich and now joining Ingolstadt, "I know some of the guys already, now I look forward to continuing your successful season with you."
