Fabian Johnson has been disappointed with the lack of game time under Lucien Favre after signing last summer from Hoffenheim.

The 27-year-old right back has struggled to settle in his new environment, after having a good World Cup with the USA. Coach Lucien Favre has favoured to play offensive players as wing backs and that has meant Johnson's place has been under threat from the likes of Hahn, Herrmann, Hazard or even Traore.

After having an extended break after the tournament in Brazil, Johnson has struggled to get up to speed with the rest of his team. The 27-year-old knows the important thing is to "become injury costless in the Winter Break". He continued, "I need a lot of time in training sessions, and in the three test matches that we have in Belek."

The big disappointment for the USA international was that he couldn't carry on his momentum from his time at Hoffenheim and the World Cup. He will be looking to improve his personal current form and get a starting XI place regularly in Favre's strong Mönchengladbach side.

Despite so far having an unsuccessful season as of yet Johnson is adamant he made the right move in the summer by saying "I do not regret the change." Another half of the season will see how his chances change and if he can regain the form shown previously at former clubs and international level.
