Hamburger SV Director of football Peter Knäbel has stated in an interview that trio Josip Drmić, Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Krystian Bielik are on their radar.

The former of the three, Josip Drmić, has been rumoured to be interested in joining Hamburg, as was reported on VAVEL earlier in the week. The young Swiss forward has been a target for a while with negotiations ongoing, and Leverkusen are rumoured to want a fee around €6million.

Drmić has struggled for consistent game time at Bayer, scoring three times in just 10 appearances for the club.

He is understood to be frustrated with his lack of match action, but according to Bayer Leverkusen Sporting Director Rudi Völler claims Drmić will not be leaving under any circumstances.

“Neither a loan nor the sale are eligible. Josip will continue to play an important role at Bayer,” says Völler.

However, Peter Knäbel remains hopeful.

"There's a chance," says Knäbel, "I am pleased that the Board has sent us a sign that we are financially flexible.”

In addition to this, Hamburg boss Josef Zinnbauer is clearly hoping the deal gets the green light.

"If the club boss Dietmar Beiersdorf came and says we can get Drmic, then I say yes.”

On Saturday, Legia Warsaw wonderkid Krystian Bielik visitied Hamburg and met with representative of HSV. The club still remain candidates to sign him, but with interest from Arsenal and other elite European clubs, it is not yet sure where the 17-year-old will end up.

While it was believed that Hamburg (who reportedly discovered him before Arsenal did) have an advantage in the race for his signature, it may not be the case any more.

"Because of the identification of the player we were at the forefront,” Knäbel states “The player now has two options in mind - we'll see.”

The Polish under-16 has just 177 minutes of Ekstraklasa action under his belt without a goal, but as one of the hottest prospects in European football, the situation is heating up fast.

Hamburger SV have certainly done their very best to make a move to the club as palatable and attractive as possible, but it is a waiting game to see where the ‘Polish prodigy’ ends up.

Furthermore, Knäbel has stated that there is continuing interest in Inter Milan midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic.

The rumour was that it may be a swap deal that involved Tolgay Arslan heading the other way, however Arslan is with the club in Dubai at the winter training camp, so it is clear no deal is imminent.

Kuzmanovic has played in the Bundesliga before, joining Stuttgart in 2009, amassing 96 appearances and netting 17 times for the club, before moving to Internazionale in January 2013.

Any speculation surrounding the future of Marcell Jansen wasn't any clearer as Knäbel stated: “There is no clear interest that has been registered with us.”

It promises to be an interesting January for Hamburg, as they look to strengthen the squad in order to improve on yet another uninspiring Hinrunde performance.
