Ludovic Obraniak has joined Turkish Super Lig side Rizespor on loan for the remainder of the season.

The transfer came as no surprise, as both parties were keen to make the move happen and it was more just a case of when.

Obraniak joined Werder in January 2014, in a deal worth €1.5million from Girondins Bordeaux.

Since then he's gone on to make a meager twelve appearances, scoring once and assisting a goal.

This season, the 30-year-old has featured for just fifty-six minutes in a Bremen shirt and was therefore looking to move on.

Rizespor are also in a desperate situation in Turkey, having won just three times this season and sit in 16th place.

The Polish midfielder, who has been capped thirty-four times by his country, is the third Werder player to go on loan this season.

Nils Petersen (SC Freiburg) and Eljero Elia (Southampton) have also left on loan, while Levin Öztunali (Bayer Leverkusen) has joined on loan until 2016.
