Hamburger SV have been struck with a huge €55,000 fine relating to several different incidents, mainly those involving a pitch invader's confrontation with Franck Ribéry.

The charge, which was accepted by the club, was primarily down to one fan's actions against Bayern Munich in a DFB-Pokal game on October 29th.

The rogue supporter charged onto the field before hitting Ribéry with his scarf and showing him the middle finger, before being carted off the pitch.

HSV fans also lit flares, threw lighters and made an 'irritating' whistle noise, which was explained in an official DFB statement:

"In the 60th minute of the home (league) game against Mainz 05 on Dec. 7, 2014, a whistle with an irritating sound was used several times from someone in the stands," it read.

It's been a rough season for Hamburg, who have made no real improvement on last season's poor performances.

The only ever-present Bundesliga side are a mere two points from the relegations spots, as they kick-off their Rückrunde against FC Köln in twelve days.
