RB Leipzig youngster Federico Palacios Martínez has gone on loan to FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt until the end of the season.

Having arrived, for a sizeable fee, from VfL Wolfsburg in 2013, Palacios Martínez has managed just eight appearances for the Leipzig first team since then.

With the Wolves, the German-born Spaniard scored at a quite remarkable rate. He netted 82 goals in 92 games, adding a further 35 assists with the under-17 and 19 sides.

The 19-year-old has joined up with Rot-Weiß Erfurt until June 30th 2015, with the aim to gain some invaluable game time.

Erfurt are sitting in eighth place in the 3.Liga, though are a mere five points from Preußen Münster in the final automatic promotion place.

It is no surprise the youngster has been loaned out, with high-profile signings Omer Damari, Nils Quaschner and Emil Forsberg ahead of him in the pecking order.

The rest of the Leipzig side have flown out to Doha on Tuesday for a 10 day training camp.
