Chemnitz FC have competed the signing of Frank Löning from 2.Bundesliga side Erzgebirge Aue on a one-year deal until 2016.

“I am delighted that we now have Frank Löning, an important alternative to our attack,” said coach, Karsten Heine. “Frank has both the necessary experience, as well as the ability to make the right decision in tight situations.

“I am convinced that his psychical presence and his character will give new impetus to our game.”

The 33-year old forward found the goal on six occasions in 32 games in the 2.Bundesliga for Aue since making his move last year from SV Sandhausen.

“I am looking forward to the new challenge in Chemnitz,” added Löning. “I was impressed that the leaders of Chemnitz have tried very hard to sign me.”

Chemnitz currently find themselves in 13th place in the 3.Liga, currently suffering a five game losing streak in the league.

Löning will add much needed fire power to the front line of Chemnitz, who are currently the league's second lowest scoring 3.Liga side, with 20 goals.
