Bastian Oczipka is enjoying a fruitful period with Eintracht Frankfurt and is keen to build on from a strong first half of the season. With his contract expiring the 26-year-old is even more keen to impress coach Thomas Schaaf.

He was asked about contract negotiations and a possible new deal after his current one expires at the end of the season. With team-mate Bamba Anderson signing a new deal, both club and player will hope Oczipka follows his line of thinking sooner rather than later.

"As the new coach came so did a lot of new methods, i have not played many things including my confidence have suffered," after having suffered with niggling injuries the 96 time Bundesliga appearance maker was keen to state, "I have not forgot how to play football."

Looking on his team's performance, being ninth in the table and only four points off a Europa League spot, Oczipka stated: "In general, the table is very tight. When it doesn't go so well we quickly look at our goals and implement higher ones, with many of our team having played European football we feel we are ready to take on the opposition from elsewhere"

The left back later stated, "We must keep in harmony as a team, implementing our practice in to games is something we're looking to build on."
