Bayern Munich forward Thomas Müller has spoken to the German media ahead of the Bundesliga re-start, with treble talk creeping into the conversation.

Under Jupp Heynckes Bayern beat off Borussia Dortmund to claim the Bundesliga crown and Champions League trophy, while victory against VfB Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final meant that the Bavarians claimed an historic treble.

Pep Guardiola continued that winning form last season, retaining their Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal crowns and adding UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup to their trophy cabinet. That being said, Müller doesn't want that run to end any time soon.

"I play with great players," the 25-year-old told TZ. "We've got a lot of points thanks to a lot of good work.

"Inevitably, you end up getting linked with things like the treble when you compete at the top, no matter what competition. If the chance to win the treble comes again this year and we have the chance to grab, then we are also very happy to pack up.

"Of course our goals are to win games. That is why we are already well on track towards winning [the Bundesliga] at the end of the year, with the gap being a safety net in case anything unexpected happens.

"The 11-point lead is very comfortable but you have to make sure you maintain it. We just need wins, as always are expected from Bayern."

The current leaders can extend that lead to fourteen points on Friday night, as they face off against second-placed VfL Wolfsburg to get the Bundesliga's Rückrunde started.
