FSV Frankfurt’s veteran goalkeeper Patrick Klandt is out of contract in the summer, although there are yet strong chances he could stay.

The 31-year-old began talks with the club in October 2014, yet the two parties still haven’t been able to thrash out a deal.

FSV are in San Pedro del Pinatar for their winter training camp, with sporting director Uwe Stöver then announcing: "We will sit down together at the training camp."

"Now we have to see what ideas have both sides and how it fits together," said Klandt.

The shot-stopper has been at his hometown club for seven years now and could retire there, "Of course I can imagine that.

“I was born in Frankfurt, I feel comfortable here and have had seven great years at FSV," he explained.

Klandt has been called upon regularly to bail out FSV’s shaky defence and he’ll have his work cut out against a rejuvenated FC Nürnberg side when the 2. Bundesliga returns.
