Hamburger SV have announced that they have reached an agreement to extend the contract of Ashton Götz until June 2017.

The 21-year old right-back has started three Bundesliga games this season for the team that lies 14th in the league table.

Sporting Director, Peter Knäbel told the clubs website: “Ashton has shown during his performance in the Bundesliga, but also in the U23 and in training, that he has great potential.”

Götz joined the U16 team from SC Hamm in 2008 and has since gone on to progress through the youth teams. Following 12 appearances in the regional league, HSV coach, Josef Zinnbauer called the youngster up into the first team.

“I am very happy about the contract extension. I want to develop my career here,” said Götz.
