Daniel Candeias has cut short his loan at 1. FC Nürnberg to join up with Granada CF until the end of the season, Guido Burgstaller is being touted as a possible replacement.

The 26-year-old Portuguese winger's departure was confirmed by Martin Bader on the club's website and will spend the remainder of the campaign with Granada in Spain.

His decision is somewhat surprising, especially considering that he's made 16 appearances for René Weiler's men and scored two goals in the process.

Wolfgang Wolf has already hinted at Austrian forward Guido Burgstaller as an alternative to the Portuguese, saying: "He [Burgstaller] is a player that we are thinking about now."

The former Rapid Wien attacker had his contract terminated by Cardiff City this week and he could also provide back up to Jakub Sylvestr, who has found little support from Peniel Mlapa.

Nürnberg will face a fight to secure his signature, however, as 1860 Munich are also said to be interested.
